Estim.ai wins the JBC Media Award at PitchTech at Grand Batimatech
Estim.ai, an AI-powered construction estimating platform developed by Explor.ai, won the PitchTech competition at the 10th edition of Grand Batimatech. Out of nine competing companies, it was Estim.ai's solution that stood out.
The JBC Media Award was presented to Benoît Carle, Estim.ai's Director of Business Development, by Jacques Boisvert, President of JBC Media.

This win reflects a real and well-known problem in the industry. Estimating remains one of the most critical steps in the pre-construction cycle: a bid that is too high loses the contract, a bid that is too low melts margins. The pressure on estimators is intensifying as deadlines shorten and skilled labour becomes scarce. Benoît Carle, himself a former estimator, knows the reality on the ground well.
Developed in close collaboration with preconstruction professionals, Estim.ai automates symbol counting and quantity extraction directly from plans and specifications, while keeping control in the hands of estimators. The user submits his drawings, identifies the components to be surveyed and obtains a quantity list in a few minutes.
For contractors, these gains translate into stronger bidding volume, better margin discipline, and more structured decision-making — either more opportunities handled or more accurate pricing strategies with a higher level of confidence.
